If you’re interested in starting a preschool franchise, then you should learn about the curriculum that Building Kidz uses to educate and develop children.
Children between the ages of two and six are at a critical point in their development and education. At this age, kids develop physical coordination, formulate and combine ideas, learn more complex games, and begin the journey of learning about themselves and each other. Combining play with education has long been an effective education method, especially with young children.
Being playful while learning keeps kids’ attention and helps them remember and apply the concepts they’ve learned later on. The Building Kidz preschool curriculum weaves play and performing arts into the daily activities of preschool-aged children. We introduce foreign language and expand on it throughout our preschool curriculum. Our curriculum can help any child and our teachers provide individual attention to support every child’s unique needs and ensure that every kid has fun and learns.
Our preschool curriculum allows our children to thrive and introduces language, math, science, and social skills in a way that encourages learning at every child’s own pace. Our curriculum strengthens the cognitive and social skills of preschoolers. We use fun memory games and team activities to combine creative expression with a tactile experience in a group setting.
We help kids develop their math and science skills with hands-on experiences, supported by elements of the performing arts. We also use the performing arts to aid with kids’ language learning, accelerating literacy and language development.
We have specific curricula for children of different ages.
Children at this young age have a deep-seated need to explore the environment around them. We show our two-year-old’s how to explore safely and get them excited to learn. We design this curriculum to support kids’ need to explore while introducing the Building Kidz academic curriculum in an age-appropriate manner. We make sure to keep our two-year-old students engaged in a fun environment while preparing them for the academic challenges they will meet later in life.
We level up our curriculum for three-year-old’s. Our three-year-old students review prior concepts before they learn new concepts. Beyond the benefit of retention, this approach is also helpful for children who are attending Building Kidz for the first time as a three-year-old.
Our three-year-olds review the alphabet, the numbers one through ten, and basic colors and shapes. As the year progresses, we teach our three-year-olds about creating tertiary colors from primary and secondary ones and learn about different shapes. Children of this age become more verbal, so we encourage them to participate in discussions throughout the year. They can also handle more responsibility, so we ensure they play a more active role in their development.
At the age of four, a typical child is full of energy and exuberant about learning in the right atmosphere. Kids at this age are better able to focus on one activity or concept than younger children. That’s why we leveled up our curriculum for four-year-olds significantly.
We instruct these children to use their journals throughout the week for literacy and math activities. Our teachers guide them on using one page at a time and filling out pages. Even though four-year-olds have more motor control and more interest in writing, it is still beneficial for them to learn academic concepts in a “hands-on” style. Our curriculum involves sensory materials that encourage development from a basic level to a more advanced one. We integrate music and dance with science and math to make these concepts truly come to life for four-year-olds.
By the age of five, can learn at a more abstract level and sit still long enough to focus on more complex subjects. Our curriculum for five-year-olds is a synthesis of all the knowledge and learning they have gained during their time at Building Kidz. Writing words and sentences becomes a very integral part of their development. We get our five-year-olds to write letters to each other to make them comfortable writing full sentences.
By the end of the year, our children are writing a few sentences and some are writing questions to their peers. After completing our five-year-old curriculum, our children can count to 100, count by fives and tens, complete simple addition and subtraction, and learn complex patterns. We also encourage the creativity of five-year-olds with the art component of our curriculum. Having gained a solid foundation in learning the primary, secondary, and tertiary colors, our five-year-olds learn about more advanced colors like saffron, fuchsia, and terracotta. Our children make these colors with tempera paints.
No matter the ages of the children we teach, we always look for ways to integrate the performing arts into our curricula. By encouraging kids to perform and pursue their artistic interests, we can build kids’ confidence, keep them engaged, and foster their creativity. We also encourage children to learn through life experiences (LTLE). Our proprietary LTLE curriculum complements our dedicated and focused play areas, accelerating the cognitive, emotional, and social development of our students.
