Our Journey – The Story Behind Building Kidz
If you have heard about our success and have been wondering what our real story is all about, then strap on as we take you on an exciting journey that is our story! Building Kidz was started with a clear goal and that was to bring the performing arts into early childhood education. The idea was to create a fun and creative way for kids to learn, while also helping them grow socially and think in new, exciting ways.
The Beginning:
Our story starts with a little girl who at the time was just four years old. She had juvenile diabetes and needed a safe, caring place to learn and grow. Her mother, Vineeta Bhandari, was working long hours in a demanding corporate job, but like any devoted parent, she wanted the very best for her daughter.
Vineeta started looking for a preschool or daycare in the Bay Area that could meet her daughter’s needs. A place that prioritizes safety, nurturing, education, and fun, were her priorities. But nothing matched her expectations.
That’s when she realized the solution wasn’t out there and that it was a solution that she had to create herself. Vineeta took a leap of faith and started her own preschool. What began as a personal mission to care for her daughter grew into what is now Building Kidz, a place where children can learn, thrive, and shine through the power of the performing arts. Moreover, a simple vision has helped countless parents, get exactly what they want through this brilliant daycare center.
Things Take A Turn For The Better:
In January 2003, Vineeta opened the first Building Kidz school in Pacifica, California. Her daughter attended the school for two years before moving on to elementary school. During that time, Vineeta realized she wasn’t the only parent looking for an enriching program. There were several parents out there who wanted the same thing for their child. What started as something personal quickly grew into something bigger than one could imagine. As more families shared their excitement and support, Vineeta saw a real need in the community and found a new passion to help improve early childhood education for others.
Vineeta’s preschool turned out to be a great success for her daughter, for other kids, and as a business. But she didn’t stop there. She wanted to bring the same kind of care and learning to more families.
Franchising:
With support from the growing Building Kidz team, new centers opened across California. Today, we’re proud to be one of the fastest-growing preschool franchise in the U.S. And what makes us proud to be part of this journey is that we always make sure to give back. How? We donate 25% of our profits to nonprofits that support underprivileged children, all at no extra cost to our parents or franchisees.
Over time, Building Kidz grew into several locations, thanks to a strong focus on quality and a clear vision. As more families looked for high-quality childcare, we kept improving our program and added new, creative ways to teach. We also teamed up with early childhood experts to train our teachers and caregivers, making sure every center offered the same great experience. This helped us give each child the best start in their learning journey.
The Future:
When you build something so beautiful, you know that you’re going to soar to new heights. Our plan is to continue to grow and expand into new communities. We want every child to have access to the kind of education we provide. We constantly work towards enhancing our programs to keep up with the changing times.
