The preschool and childcare business

Demand for preschools and childcare businesses is high. With roughly 70% of every two-parent family operating with both parents working jobs, there are many kids out there who need somewhere they can be safe and learn in an enriching environment. This need is obvious for two parents who work on site, such as in an office or in the trades. But as we discovered during the Pandemic, working from home and looking after your kid(s) is hardly a simple task, let alone educating your kids while you’re at it.

This illustrates the great need for preschools, daycares, and childcare businesses. Not only did the childcare industry survive the Pandemic, with locations often being declared essential businesses, but the industry also survived the Great Recession largely unscathed. The demand for childcare and early childhood education is unwavering, but it’s not like Building Kidz has been the only business to discover this. So what sets us apart from other childcare businesses?

Our preschool philosophy

At Building Kidz, we don’t operate on some vague notion of helping kids. We have a very clear vision for what we do. Our childcare values center on the performing arts in education. Our unique approach to education involves the performing arts, not just as a class, but as a teaching vehicle.

We integrate song, dance, visual art, and performance into every single lesson in our curriculum. We don’t shunt the arts off to one side and only touch on them when the kids are losing concentration or once we’re finished boringly trying to teach more “academic” subjects. No, each of our preschool franchises uses a scientifically sound approach to educating children every day with the performing arts, for every age group we serve.

We think the arts are crucial to keeping kids engaged, to teaching them critical social skills, and to building their confidence, commitment, and character. Beyond the performing arts, we also expose children to secondary languages. Every child over the age of three that attends one of our childcare centers takes a second language course. We are the only franchise in the preschool business that offers these services to parents.

Building Kidz within the daycare business

If you want to start your own daycare or preschool, you should know that we are among the top preschool franchises. Our performing arts philosophy makes us special in terms of our curricula, but we also think outside the box as it pertains to business. Our operating principle is flexibility.

Unlike other childcare business opportunities, our flexible business model works for acquisitions, conversions, new site development, partnerships with churches, partnerships with corporations for onsite and offsite campuses, and even partnerships with apartment complexes. We want to be able to teach kids and help them grow wherever they are. We don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach.

We have demonstrated the scalability of our model at different campus sizes. For example, we allow franchisees to open in spaces that will allow for as few as 50 students, but we also have a proven model to support schools with over 200 students.
